About the Desert Rose Society
Desert Rose Society is a proud affiliate of the American Rose Society.
Founded in 1985, the Desert Rose Society serves the entire Coachella
Valley and beyond. We are a very active group and maintain a
membership of just over two hundred members.
The goal of the rose society is to educate about and encourage the
growing of roses. At our monthly meetings we strive to present informative presenters on all subjects concerning rose growing.
We hold meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at the Portola Community Center in Palm Desert at 45480 Portola Avenue.
Meetings are held every month except June, July and August. We present an annual rose show usually on the second Saturday in November. We hold an annual pot-luck dinner, a year-end holiday event including installation and awards dinner, normally a garden tour or bus tour once a year.
Our members are a mix of avid rose growers, casual rose growers, and some who grow no roses. They join Desert Rose Society for the educational opportunities it offers and some join because of the social interaction and entertaining programs and events.
The Desert Rose Society an affiliate of the American Rose Society and is a non profit, 501(c)(3) educational organization making most donations tax deductable.
